IUS – DESIGN FOR QUANTUM BATTERIES

IUS in conjunction with NSE @ MIT is undertaking research into the aesthetic form, material construction and spatial design of mobile quantum batteries. Each battery is capable of providing up to 10 MW of decarbonized electrical power to a variety of uses ranging from vertical farming to edge computing.

The Principal Investigator of IUS, Iain Macdonald, is providing architectural and advanced industries consultancy to an architect-led consortium taking part in an invited competition to prepare a masterplan, vision and circular economy design strategies for two inner city districts from 2020 to 2050.
